People forget that most of these are just classic anime and fantasy tropes. Collecting 7 magical items is a concept as old as time. A rival who eventually joins the good guys? That's anime 101. Sonic’s creators definitely took inspiration from Akira Toriyama for the glowing yellow forms, but the lore, vibe, and world-building are completely different. Also, DBZ is already pretty kid-friendly anyway 😂
