I actually hate the way people talk about Darkners. Folks. they aren't "fake", they aren't "fantasy". Once they were giving sentient they became living beings. They are real, the dark fountains are real. Look me dead in the eye and tell me Ralsei doesn't deserve to exist just as much as Kris and Susie. Tell me that the flowers should be forced to exist only in their encased glass shells. Its a video game. NONE of the characters are real. But the Dark Fountains give the darkenrs real sentience. Even when they transform back into an item (Lancer for example), they still remember when reformed. People assume the game is selling the message that fantasy must be left behind for reality, and in part thats true. But fantasy is not something you have to abandon in adulthood. You can exist both in the fantastical and the real. The good ending will probably end with Castle Town being a permanent Dark Fountain for all the darkners, and the light world residents being able to come and go. Thats my hope Every single one of them is a real living thing that deserves to continue existing on in their darkner forms if they desire.
