Idk how it is in England, but here in Spain it’s all pretty chill. He walks around, you can call him Felipe, give him a handshake while he’s drinking a beer… and I know others are the same, the Norwegian, the Danish…

I think it’s because royals represent the nation and its history. Even though they didn’t do anything to earn that role personally, they are still part of their country’s identity, culture, and traditions. To many people, they are a source of national pride. Plus, I’d much rather have someone who’s been prepared for this role their entire life than a politician whose main goal is winning votes, gaining power, or advancing their own interests.

royals typically bring more money into the country than they use because of tourism and their royal duties. It’s also a part of history and cultures

Something interesting I’ve learned being a royal is actually more about embodying certain strengths and abilities that not everyone can easily hold or should hold. It’s not that we are more as people as we all have hopes, dreams, desires and aspirations. That’s nothing different but it’s the sacrifice of actually doing it. Even if we don’t see it. Look at The King of Denmark or as I call Papa. His quick rise to The Throne, Family Heath and more all lead to his rapid aging. The reason you treat them as more is because they vary weights no one else should or would wish most times.

And it’s also kind of sad because those few that are born into the “core/direct descendants royal family” are grown up with their life already planned. They don’t get to work towards or achieve dream jobs. They always need security, can’t go to a normal school or have normal friends or sleepovers or play dates at their “house”. So yes, while I agree we shouldn’t idealise the families, we should also still have empathy for them and recognise that their lifestyle is not its sometimes cracked up to be

I don’t know about monarchy… but humans will always look up or need some kind of a leader, we know this amongst ourselves there is always some kind of leader amongst us in everyday stuff or others taking the lead, and we know this throughout history. if monarchy were to be abolished something similar with qualities/power and vibe would replace it

the ONLY pro of the monarchy is the tourist money, but then we'd still get tourists to view an empty Buckingham palace, and possibly even more if you could tour the inside of the building too

They are not „superior. They are important to the British Culture, bring in a lot of money and maintain diplomatic relationships. I have to say there are a few royals that are odd but i don‘t get the hate towards the king, he is doing very well.

Unfortunately a country needs someone like a "diplomat". Someone who represents an entire country when it comes to trades, economy, collaborations etc. I do agree it should be an elected person but that's not gonna change anytime soon.

Well first of all its a job for them. Overpaid and different yes, but its still their work. Plus the royals are like walking turist attractions. Imagine having a living eiffel tower or big ben walking around. Thats basically them. They make plus in economy to the country as well as being a historically known family. Peaple want to meet Queen Victorias decendants or some shit
