I have finally accepted after trying to force myself to use outlines that I am in fact…a pantser lol. Once I know the outline of a story and how it ends I don’t care about writing it any more. Recently I had an outline for a fic plotted on my whiteboard and I decided to erase it lol. I have it backed up elsewhere but I’ve decided I’m not even going to look at it. Best decision ever.

Writing a Stranger Things fanfic, I have to rewatch carefully mostly for the dates and keep an outline for the sections of the canon events, adding little notes of what my character is doing there. I genuinely looked up calendars for the months in '83 and '84 and school events. 😀 It's a mix of free rolling it and overcomplicating my research. If I have a random idea for a scene I write them down and then piece it later like a puzzle.

I write a summary. Then things I want to happen/ideas and THEN I write chapter outlines scene by scene by scene. It makes it MUCH EASIER

to help me write I treat my works like they’re actual story games like GTA V, TLOU, or RDR2 and the chapters are “missions” or TV shows with episodes

I just write a spam summary version of the story. Top to bottom, no details just like a rundown. When I actually write the story is when I can figure out the details

I never written something before, but I have this problem and it's that whenever I need to write ANY scene of ANY kind, I just end up writing "A did this to B and B said this but then A did that and then B did that." even if I try to put some energy to it, I just can't make it sound nor look good, any tips??

i used to refuse to make an outline but then i’d find myself getting stuck when it came to actually writing the chapters instead of just having the concepts 😩 so now i outline to have a direction but sometimes other things just end up happening

That's what I do. I write down fic idea summaries and save them to theor own docs so I always have littke plot bunnies waiting for me after I finish a WIP.
