Brings back memories of my initial training back in 1978. Even as a stumpy fat lad I used to get up there. Does anyone else remember having to stop and 'make fast' with hands/arms outstretched (crusiform) and then a 'ceremonial' return to the ground with arms circling away an back to the rope?

I couldn’t do it when I was in basic training but with extra PT after a hard day training I could run up it.
