Don't try to paint Charles as innocent. If he loved Camilla so much, then instead of using Diana and ruining her life, he could have simply given up the throne, just like his great-uncle did for the woman and the love of his life. But Charles wanted the crown more than he wanted Camilla. He had plenty of siblings who could have inherited the throne without any problem if he had chosen to renounce it for the woman he supposedly loved so much.

I do not defend Charles and Camilla but I have also thought this. They weren't allowed to be together and Diana was brought into the middle of it. All for the royal family to change the rules after the fact.. It was a tragedy for sure that could have been avoided. BUT Charles 100% should have ended it when Diana came into the picture, and he definitely didn't need to treat her so terrible.

I 100 percent agree. And I love love diana. But both Charles and Diana were forced into that marriage. He has always love Camilla. Never wavered. People keep acting like or says "he left diana for that--" He loved her for a decade before he met diana. It really is tragic.

If they’d been allowed to marry it would have been one of the greatest love stories of all time. In my opinion Charles has only ever had one true love and Diana knew that before she married him. Her sister told her it was too late to cancel,the wedding. If she’d have walked away she would have probably found her one true love instead of having affairs with others and would have been happy.
