My sister randomly text me a year or two ago and said “I was just thinking about how you used to have to get up much earlier than me to get me up and ready for school, and that you’d pack me a lunch and leave notes in them, and I just wanted to say that I appreciate that” and I think about it almost every day, my siblings are my babies

My mom would feed us once a day and my little brothers would eat their food so fast then sit there looking wide eyed and sad. When she wasn't looking I would sneak my food onto their plates. They would be so excited to have extra food but I don't think they ever realized i wasn't eating at all...but it didn't matter I was older and stronger so I did what I could at my little age. 🥺 Sometimes I wonder if they even remember those nights!

I’m the oldest sister too. For years I had a fear of having kids because I didn’t want to traumatize them. I’m 36 weeks pregnant with my first baby now and I’m going through all the emotions. My sisters tell me all the time that I’m going to be the best mom because I raised them but the fear is still there

oh a siblings love, my sister always reminds me of how i used to wait for her to be done eating at the kitchen table so she wouldn’t be alone because everyone else would already be done and gone but i would sit and wait on her until she was done :)

my little sister got me a Christmas card when she was 6 years old, and she wrote “Thank you for always taking care of me, feeding me, buying me toys and my clothes and shoes. Thank you for always being there. You’re the best sister mom ever.” … now she 15 & tells my daughters “You guys know what. You’re lucky, because you have the best mom ever. But I was her first baby first.” 🫶🏻😭😂

sometimes, to be the best parent, is to choose not to be one at all. and those who choose that path, are some of the most caring and considerate people to exist. to love someone so much, you won’t allow them to exist. knowing you can’t give your all to a child, because no one gave you their all when you were a child, is a devastating thing. i hope all you are able to find peace and healing. i hope you’re able to live a life of happiness and comfort
