which is why we mostly use pvc in Europe it's also cheaper and more flexible

Aluminum conduit or AL flex conduit is okay. Single conductors can not pass through steel enclosures or lock nuts and only supply side is grounded so use aluminum plate on supply and insulation board on load side to prevent sheath currents. An old boy hack is to notch all KOs with saw blade so all three phases are encircled by steel if you don’t have aluminum

Does a neutral always have current in it.

As engineers, we should always remember that current flows through the live and returns through the neutral. A damaged or loose neutral can cause earth leakage and electric shock hazards. Thanks, Engineer, for sharing this valuable knowledge.

So you're saying the wires required inside a metal conduit require a going and returning wire? So 2-4-6-8-10 where equally going and returning ratio of wires?
