@criminalbritain: MANCHESTER AIRPORT ASSAULT: MAN JAILED AFTER ATTACKING POLICE OFFICERS AND MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison after a violent confrontation at Manchester Airport left two female police officers and a member of the public injured. Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, from Rochdale, was found guilty over the incident at Terminal 2 on 23 July 2024. The court heard the violence began after he assaulted a man inside a Starbucks before officers tracked him down nearby. As police attempted to arrest him, CCTV captured Amaaz throwing punches, elbow strikes and a kick during the struggle. Two officers were assaulted while carrying out their duties, and the member of the public he had confronted earlier was also injured. During sentencing, the judge said Amaaz showed no remorse, adding that he continued to present himself as the victim rather than taking responsibility for his actions. Greater Manchester Police said the officers responded to a serious incident and were met with unnecessary violence while simply carrying out their duties. What do you think should be the consequences for assaults on emergency workers? #fyp #manchester #airport #prison #crime
