for anyone wondering, you can do this same thing only without cutting the hole there, to troubleshoot what component is causing a spongey/low pedal. in other words, you can rule out the master cylinder you all love to throw at cars by plugging both lines into it and watch the low pedal symptom go away, telling you the issue is further down the line lmao
