As someone who genuinely loves all the LIs, I can’t help but feel like this whole situation is unfair. I’m not upset because the developers wanted more time or needed to make adjustments. If Valko required changes, a delay would have been completely understandable. What hurts the most is that he was cancelled entirely when his scheduled release was literally only 10 days away.
So many global players were excited for Valko and genuinely interested in his character. Yet it feels like our voices don’t carry the same weight. We support this game, invest our time into it, and care deeply about its future. Whether we spend money or play as F2P users, our opinions should matter just as much.
This isn’t about choosing Valko over the existing LIs. I love the characters we already have, but as a player, it doesn’t feel right to announce a character, build excitement around him, set a release date, and then cancel him entirely right before launch.
What makes this even more disappointing is the message it sends to global players. Many of us feel overlooked and unheard. Regardless of where players are from, every part of the community contributes to this game’s success and deserves to be treated fairly.
Sometimes it feels as though, because this is a Chinese game, the opinions of CN players are prioritized, while global players are expected to simply accept the outcome.
If Love and Deepspace is truly a global game, then every part of the community deserves equal consideration. Players from all around the world support this game, spend money on it, and contribute to its success. Why should one group of players have more influence than everyone else?
I still love Love and Deepspace and want it to succeed, but I sincerely hope the developers start listening to the entire community moving forward. Global players deserve to be heard too. Right now, this situation leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth.
