This is shameful. No i am not Jewish, but I care about living in a community where all feel welcome. This is a HUD subsidized community for 62yrs and over, its run by Catholic Charities management in Broward County FL. Only a few of the residents were brave enough to ask what happened to the menorah on Dec 15th, they were told it was stolen. It was never replaced & never investigated, as it clearly should have been. Every year, there has been Jewish representation along with Catholic during the holidays except for this one. To not investigate or replace the menorah shows they condone the behavior of anti semitism. This incident should have been taken serious, especially In light of what happened at Bondi Beach & the rise of violent anti semitism throughout the world & within our country. As upsetting as it's been for the elderly jewish residents who reside in this HUD subsidized housing run by Catholic Charities management, they are afraid to pursue the issue any farther, out of fear of repercussion from management who are also residents. What has always made America special is the unity of its citizens regardless of race, creed, religion. Even though we are all different we are joined by the love of american culture. American culture is freedom and acceptance of your neighbor, it's a willingness for a muslim & a jew a protestant & a Jehovah's witness to live side by side peacefully. Americans come from countries from around the globe each with a different culture religion language we come in every color and live side by side in peace. America cannot be made into a nation of tribalism where we break off into different factions of race and religion. #antisemitismneedstostop #antisemitism #hanukkah #christmas #1stamendment
