My dealership got 2. Dont get me wrong, its cool and it really cut our RO write up times in half. But they refuse to spend money on new equipment for our car wash that breaks down constantly. Also, the UVEye takes up a lot space. One of our advisors is right next to it and if a customer is next to his desk, we have to ask said customer to move so we can get by

If a person or a company wanted simply to find out the condition of their car would most repair shops that have this machine just run it through the machine to find out the condition, including pictures of the undercarriage of the car

We have one, I feel it’s better for sales trade appraisals than service. You can point out leaks, tire wear, etc.. to customers and get permission to address those while still in the lane, but you can’t tell if the tech would have sold the work during his/her inspection anyway. It does offer transparency, as does a video MPI. In all a great tool, just hard to really track metrics and see how it justifies the price.
