And I surround them with an army of powerful herbs for natural pest control: 🍅🌱 - BASIL: improves flavor & repels aphids. - SPRING ONIONS: repels aphids, spider mites, deer, and easy to tuck in at the base of the tomato plant, maximizing space. - OREGANO: deters whiteflies and aphids, attracts parasitic wasps that kill tomato hornworms. - MARIGOLDS: repels root nematodes, and bright color attracts pollinators, maximizing production. - THYME: acts as a living mulch to suppress weeds and retain moisture. Also repels whiteflies and tomato hornworms. As you can see, I’ve planted Genovese basil, Greek oregano, spring onions, Purple Ruffle Basil, Lemon Thyme all around my Costoluto Genovese tomato plant.
