A commentator shared two numbers from a small 2021 study, including the claim that 39.6% of women could picture themselves making a false accusation. I went back to the original paper to see what the question actually asked and what that number really means. The survey asked whether women could imagine a situation on a 0 to 100 scale, so even a very low answer got counted - which is very different from saying someone would do it.
