the district did ask the parents for input through a survey about school security & priorities. I don’t believe there was a separate public referendum that asked voters to approve or reject armed guards specifically. The community did vote on the school budget, & the cost of the security plan was included in that budget, then approving the budget approved the funding. So it depends on what people mean when they say ‘we didn’t voted on it.

Levittown district has 2 high schools 2 middle schools and 6 elementary schools. That is less than a 100k per year budget per school. So reasonable and honestly exactly what I want my tax dollars going too.
