The worst thing you can do for these kids in pools is put the floaties on. They need to learn how their body behaves in water and how to control it in water. Babies naturally know how to swim. A baby is never too young to be in the water learning.

I wish more people understood survival swim vs swim lessons. Survival swim should always come first. It teaches skills needed to save themselves by floating until help can arrive.

What is wrong with these comments? She is learning how to save her own life in case of an accident. These lessons have been around for decades. Just because it makes some people uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea.

Hi! I’m 31, and my mom had me in these classes as an infant and then again around age 4. I am not the strongest swimmer, but I can float for dayssss. And I’ve never been afraid of water because I know how to save myself in an emergency. These classes look scary, but they will carry the skills for life!

EVERY BABY EVERYWHERE needs this training! Doesn’t matter if you don’t have a pool in your backyard, it’s a general water precaution for vacations, visiting friends and family that have pools. It’s for being around many water scenarios. If you can’t or don’t have the heart - get swim lessons at a trading facility and let someone else do it.
