As a full-time student, I can say this country’s education system feels completely broken. We’re drowning in endless activities, written works, projects, deadlines, and sleepless nights, with barely any time left to breathe. For many of us, gaming isn’t just a hobby—it’s the only place where we can escape the pressure, clear our minds, and feel like ourselves again.
And now you want to take that away?
Not everyone who plays games is wasting time. Some students and gamers use gaming to earn money, support their families, pay for school, or simply survive in an economy that keeps getting harder to live in. Gaming has become an opportunity, a career, a community, and for many, a source of hope.
Instead of banning games, why not focus on the real issues? Improve the education system. Address the overwhelming academic workload. Create better opportunities for young people. Taking away one of the few things that helps people cope doesn’t solve the problems—it only ignores them.
Wake up, Philippines. Stop treating games as the enemy while the real problems continue to grow. Listen to the students. Listen to the gamers. We don’t need another ban—we need leaders who understand what we’re actually going through.
