The problems were always the other people in the sleepover homes. The cousin or neighbor or in-law suspiciously always visiting when kids were visiting. Vetting the people who live in a house doesn't tell you that. Asking about pewpews in the home doesn't tell you that uncle farmer Jeff is coming for dinner & he plunks his pewpew on the counter when he walks in & it's unattended for hours.

My parents did not allow sleep overs. My dad always said, you have a bed at home, that's the only one you're sleeping in.

Journey of a crazy woman :
I was 8 when we moved from the apartments we lived in for a couple years into a house about 2/3 miles away. I missed my best friend. I just wanted to spend the night. All the adults agreed. I took over my Barbie’s so we could play. We were outside having a great time when all of a sudden her father came out screaming at her. Demanded she go inside. I sat there frozen on the sidewalk across the street from where I used to live, but so far away from my new home. I didn’t know what to do. So I left all my Barbie’s and ran. I ran until i got home. I never went back. I never spoke to her again. I don’t even remember name! But i can tell you exactly how that house was designed. Every color of the exterior.
