we chose to remain with dad then he married a very good lady who brought us up like her own .Dad died after 9yrs mum died now we are left with the step mum and we are happy.Not all step mothers are bad ours was God sent.

When 2 people have ego and pride just to prove a point that they are the perfect parent as if the kids don't need both, it causes trauma and mental stress to the kids if one does not compromise.
