Save & double tap this post for your next China trip : ) 1📍Dongchangzhi Road & Lushun Road, Shanghai (东长治路与旅顺路交叉口) — A popular North Bund street-photography spot where everyday Shanghai life is framed against the Lujiazui skyline, with the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower rising dramatically in the background. 2📍Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village (西江千户苗寨) — One of China’s largest Miao villages, famous for its tightly packed wooden stilt houses cascading across the mountainside. From the viewpoints above, the layers of dark tiled rooftops feel almost endless. 3📍Yangshuo (阳朔) — Famous for its surreal limestone karst mountains, which stretch across the horizon in endless layers. At sunset, the peaks fade into silhouettes beneath a glowing sky. 4📍Temple of Heaven (天坛) — One of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks, built during the Ming dynasty as a place where emperors prayed for good harvests. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is especially famous for its perfectly symmetrical circular design and intricate blue-tiled roof. 5📍Guge Kingdom Ruins, Zanda (古格王国遗址) — Hidden among the eroded cliffs of western Tibet, these dramatic ruins were once the centre of the ancient Guge Kingdom. Temples, caves and mud-brick structures still cling to the sandstone landscape, making it one of Tibet’s most surreal archaeological sites. 6📍Choi Hung Estate Basketball Court, Hong Kong (彩虹邨籃球場) — One of Hong Kong’s most recognisable photography spots, famous for its pastel-coloured apartment blocks rising directly behind the basketball courts. The name “Choi Hung” literally means “rainbow”, which perfectly matches the estate’s colourful façade. 7📍Third Bathing Beach, Qingdao (青岛第三海水浴场) — Looking east across Fushan Bay, this spot combines a floodlit seaside football pitch with Qingdao’s illuminated CBD skyline. It’s especially striking at night when the buildings surrounding the bay become part of the city’s famous light show. 8📍Manhattan Nature Residential Complex, Chengdu (曼哈顿自然派小区) — This residential complex went viral on Xiaohongshu for its striking grid-like façade, with dozens of homes stacked inside a giant concrete frame. Access is much harder now and usually requires a resident key, so unless you know someone who lives there, please don’t try to force your way in — this is a real residential building where hundreds of people live.
