I thought the definition of fade and taper where the same. If something was to fade away that means it gradually goes away not all at once if the rain tapers off that means it gradually stops not just stop just like you want the “blend”on the hair cut to be gradual . The only difference from the cut with the XXX is that it’s tapered or faded all around and the other is tapered or faded just in the temple area and the back of the neck.Your using the same technique to blend the cut just in a specific area or all around. The main point is to know where your client want there blend to be and how close. Same thing with a mow hawks and burst fades or taper you set your guide line in a arch from the temple over the to around the back of the neck then you start to blend technique again the only difference in the other cuts in the post is one place your guide line in the temple area and the other cut your guide line goes all the way around.
