3️⃣💀How to perform the triple airway manoeuvre 👫This manual manoeuvre combines both head tilt chin lift and jaw thrust when both separately have failed. ✅ Indications •Unresponsive patients who have an airway obstruction caused by the tongue (snoring can be indication) •head tilt chin lift & jaw thrust have failed ❌ Contraindications •Responsive patient •Suspected spinal injury (however JRCALC advocates jaw thrust with ONLY chin lift if the two needs to be combined) 😃 Advantages •No equipment needed •Simple & non-invasive 😢 Disadvantages •Does not protect the airway from aspiration •Not suitable for C-spine injuries •Difficult to maintain •Requires second person to carry out ventilations if needed Procedure 1. Don appropriate PPE 2. Patient supine, identify the angle of the mandible 3. Place fingers behind the angle of the mandible and lift upwards & forwards 4. Open the mouth with your thumbs 5. Tilt head backwards 6.
