@justkkra: Dear future UofT students, I know by accepting the offer means you have to work hard for the next 4 (or 5) years of your life and sacrifice many things, like leaving family far away if you’re an intl student. It’s hard, trust me. I’ve been there. But I found my people. Together we pulled an all-nighter days before an exam and yapped how terrible the test was after we took it. We explored Toronto and went on mini (sometimes impulsive) side quests. Countless study sessions filled with doubts and stress, and movie nights at their suite. Even though I have other support systems, my Indonesian friends studying here and our student communities in Toronto will always be my biggest one that I could run to. We make home closer and have each other’s back. I got the chance to open doors to opportunities I never knew existed until I step inside the room. Met brilliant minds and inspiring figures in- and outside classrooms. New ambitions emerged from there, and so it continues. So if you ask me, I’d say take that risk. Everything will fall into place at its own time and pace. The pressure will always be there, and UofT knows you can handle it—that’s why they accepted you in the first place.
