subaru didn't have cvt issues, that was Nissan. the head gaskets have been solved since the late 2000s

Subaru is really good about replacing it especially well known issues as well. I will never not buy a Subaru. Currently have almost 150k on my 2017

CVT failure for Subaru ans Toyota is on the drivers failure it's not a race car it's for fuel efficiency and smoothness I've seen many Subaru CVTs failure due to drivers racing around and for those curious the fluid change for the CVT/transfer case is 60,000 miles and yes the dealership will tell you not to touch it because if you dont it will fail just after warranty thank you have a nice day 😊

i have a Crosstrek under 5 yrs old and currently needs a new transmission has 2 issues and they cant even diagnose the one issue 😞 have never had a trans issue with my older hondas not a fan of cvt

their CVTs have been way more reliable than their old traditional Automatics. Genuinely had a CVT issue maybe 5 times a year in the shop when I was a Subaru tech, as opposed to doing about 5 valve bodies a month in the old 4/5speeds

100,000 miles is not enough for a transmission for a car that’s $25-$30,000. They should last 175k

We bought a used 2015 with 140k on it. The Band-Aid they put on it to cover up the transmission issues lasted 1200 miles. Subaru said it would be $8,000 to replace.

My 2019 Ascent is my second Subaru, it has 113k with no major issues. I’m about to replace the drive belt for a minor squeak but all the mechanics/mechanically inclined in my family say it’s in great condition. Super happy with it and will recommend Subaru to anybody
