@himalayanyoga: Most people hear sacrifice and think loss. Baba meant offering. Yajna is the sixth of the twenty-six divine qualities named in the Bhagavad Gita’s sixteenth chapter. And Baba was direct: “Divine qualities are like cooking materials. It is no use just collecting them.” Yajna especially. Baba did not frame sacrifice as one dramatic act. He named five forms, so there is always one available to you: Brahma Yagna—sacred study, worship, scripture, pilgrimage. Rishi Yagna—service to the teacher and the company of seekers. Pitri Yagna—gratitude to those who came before. Manushya Yagna—help for fellow human beings, hospitality, daily feeding of a relative or the needful. Bhoota Yagna—care for all creatures, even the dog at the door. Five forms exist so that no one can say, I had nothing to offer. The smallest one is enough. Choose one this week, friends.
