things an assassin's creed game needs to be an actual assassin creed game. 1. actual assassins 2. hidden blades obviously 3. the assassin brotherhood actually having any involvement at all. odyssey has none of these btw

order of the ancient are legit templars before they were called that and kassandra is legit the starting point of the assassin's and it actually connects alot of the lore through the main game and dlc

I always think you are right but you really can't be defending Odyssey, the game literally takes place before the brotherhood is even created. Odyssey is a good game but it's a bad ac game

Most of your points are flawed because all those games have in common is that you feel like an Assassin. Odyssey no, you can’t proficiently do parkour or stealth, you don’t even have a brotherhood or any assassins except one, everything that the spear can doesn’t make you feel like an assassin and the dlcs make it no better with the exception of one. Not a baseless claim from what I heard.

i played every game. and you can say what you want really. the newer games don't play like ac games. I'm not talking about lore I'm talking about gameplay. the series lost it's gameplay identity. it's like if grand torismo became a party racer like Mario cart or mortal combat physics based fighter. the genre changed from a stealth based game to a action rpg. it lost it's feuters like socail stealth and target assassinations and severely dumbed down it's parlor and story focus and also it's world design went from dense cities to large mostly flat open worlds with small cities dotted around. the older audience was betrayed and the reason unity and syndicate failed was because they were half baked and rushed not because the genre was no longer good.

AC Odyssey is considered unfitting because it is so far removed from any relevant lore that its ridiculous is the gameplay good/fun? yea does it look great yes anything relating to any other titles? Barely AC4 has Edward at least interact with and meet the assassins and even become one towards the very end, he is a character that pre dates his own game after all. even ignoring the walking sim modern day it furthers the lore and plot in a meaningful way while Odyssey can't really this doesn't make Odyssey a bad game, just not a good AC game

I get what you're trying to say by comparing it to black flag, but he said there are no assassins and templars in odyssey, and sure Edwards doesn't become an assassin until the end, but atleast he does, and there are tons of other assassin and Templar characters in the game, that's like saying odyssey and ac rouge are similar because you don't play as an assassin.

In my opinion AC Odyssey is an amazing game with an amazing world and amazing world building, but I think it wasn’t supposed to be an actual assassins creed game but it was made one because of lack of interest in running around ancient greece
