I understand your point that focusing on skills, work, or business can provide greater long-term benefits than focusing solely on appearance. I agree that prioritizing your career is important.
However, I don't agree with the idea that young people should forget about their appearance. That's where I think your argument becomes difficult to accept. Looksmaxxing, at its core, is about improving your appearance through healthier habits, better hygiene, fitness, skincare, and grooming—not necessarily obsessing over looks.
Taking care of your appearance has real benefits. Studies have shown that attractive or well-groomed people are often perceived as more trustworthy and confident. It can also create opportunities in fields like modeling, entertainment, customer-facing jobs, or even networking.
I'm not saying appearance should come before career or personal development. My point is that both can be developed at the same time. It's actually better to learn how to take care of yourself at a young age rather than neglect your appearance completely. Looking after your appearance is also a form of self-care because it usually involves maintaining good hygiene, health, and discipline.
So instead of telling people to ignore their looks, I think the better advice is to spend most of your time building profitable skills while also taking reasonable care of your appearance.
