I think it’s ok sometimes to prioritize the view and setting over the food. I’ve eaten at the little restaurant that overlooks the Colosseum twice solely bc of the view. It’s probably my best memory of Rome. I’m coming back in October and no doubt I’ll eat there again. Same with a restaurant in Florence that overlooks the Duomo.

We went for dinner in September when the weather was good, sitting outside and having delicious food plus the view was worth setting an alarm to grab the reservations 30 days out.

For me it's just a staple everytime I visit. Nostalgic and classic taste (esp the carbonara) and I always ask for the outside table to have a view of the Pantheon

We ate there after watching Stanley Tuccis Rome episode only a few days before our trip. The hotel concierge got us a table with maybe 72 hours notice. Early reservation time was fine coming from the States, but probably not ideal for Italians haha
