Vienna (Capitol of Austria) is just building a huge data center. Just for the digital infrastructure. And Microsoft builds wants to build 3 datacenters around Vienna. What you see here is, a country that builds infrastructure and wants attract foregin big companies to use them.

UE is backward here, but US Ai race is a bubble, simply because demand decreases with intelligence. One good decision on a high level out values entire datacenters of work. AGI will not create dancing cats, but will be a decision center. For that, EU and open models will be enough, because agency is the key, not the model. Of course EU will be the first to ban AGI... so China will have a free passage here.

does not have the same data centre fleet as the US, you do realise where antropic host their models. legislation like GDPR isn't what is holding up the likes of anthropic setting up in Europe, that's just nonsense.

In some Austrian cities you still can’t even pay for parking with credit card. You also can’t connect apps to your bank. Austria wouldn’t even know where to start

We have many talents in Austria and all over Europe and no - not everyone’s goal is to work for US companies. The reason why we have strict data protection laws is because actually EU cares about privacy of their citizens. I totally agree - Europe needs to host llm‘s in Europe
