An adaptation was never meant to be, and never could be, a 100% copy of the original. It's a live-action adaptation, not the original cartoon. Different people are working on it, with a different budget, different time constraints, and different creative possibilities. Recreating every single detail exactly as it was is simply impossible, especially when the live-action only has 7–8 episodes per season while the original had around 20. Naturally, some things have to be changed, shortened, or interpreted differently. I truly believe everyone involved in this project is doing the best they can. The cast are talented, hardworking, and genuinely kind young people who clearly care about what they're creating. I understand that many people are tired of adaptations and would rather see original stories, but I personally enjoy this interpretation of the story. Is it perfect? No. There are definitely things that could have been done better. But imperfections don't automatically make a show terrible.
What really disappoints me is the amount of hate these young actors and the people behind the project receive. So many people make up their minds after watching only the trailer or the first episode, without giving the series a real chance. Criticism is completely fine, but there's a difference between constructive criticism and constantly attacking people who have put years of work into something.
As someone who absolutely loves the original cartoon, I still have a lot of respect for everyone who tried to bring this beautiful world to life in live action. It will never replace the original, and it doesn't have to. The original will always be there. This adaptation is simply another way of telling a story that so many of us love, and I think that effort deserves a little more appreciation and a lot less hate.
