Agreed , the age of consent here in the UK is 16 which is so messed up. A 16 year old is a child. Even 18 is young, you’re still in sixth form. Hot take but I don’t think you should be considered an adult until 25 when your frontal lobe develops, I think age of consent should be 21. Drinking and stuff I would lower to 16 though tbh (I’m 22)

Age of concent and age at which you are considered an adult are two different things, right? A lot of people here are saying 'oh I'll be a child for longer' 'I want to be able to make my own decisions sooner'...but in the UK the age of concent is 16, that's when you can legally do it with someone of your own age, but the age you become an adult is still 18. So if the age of concent was raised that would literally only impact sexual actions, just like the drinking age in America only impacts drinking age. Either people don't know how to seperate between the two or I'm actually just the dumb one idk
