@makingmadeline: Last night, I did the one thing I was most scared to do and debuted American Psycho at the @Grand Ole Opry. I’ve sung this song countless times, alone in my home and in front of thousands of people. And when I think it will eventually get easier to talk about mental illness and the crisis that our country is facing, it only becomes harder. I will never not sing this song with tears in my eyes. Thank you to every single person inside the opry last night that met my bleeding heart with grace, gentleness and safety. I received a standing ovation after I played American Psycho, alone in the circle with my little rubber bridge guitar… and sobbed like a small child. My brother Jonah was so much bigger than his illness. Jonah was a huge ear-to-ear smile when you needed it the most. He was a stunning dancer. He was an artist. A friend. A brother. Losing him feels like losing a limb. Last night, I had the privilege of sharing his spirit on the grand ole opry stage. Thank you all for continuing to hold such genuine space for this song. Thank you for waking up. American Psycho comes out July 10.
