The Lord is abundantly merciful. Read Jonah to understand. We see his abundant mercy embodied in Jesus Christ. The Lord wants nothing more than to have mercy on our souls and be in communion with our hearts.

What I find beautiful too is that he always in the Old Testament mentions yet if you return to me that he would forgive us and that he is full of steadfast love like in Micah. I think also Old Testament is eye opening to what our sins deserve but then when you remember now Jesus took that on all of what our sins deserved, then even in the light of the punishments of the Old Testament we see the deep love of God. Like in Isaiah where it says the punishment that brought us peace was upon him and by his wounds we are healed 🥰
