my biggest concern is that Emily's address was still written inside Jesse's chaps (albeit, faded), when there's no way Al wouldn't have had his expert toy refurbisher fix that before bringing his collection to the toy museum in Japan in TS2.

we had tablet kids in 2010. tablet kids were Gen Z. angry birds launched in 2009, flappy bird 2013. the first ipad was 2010, ipod touch was 2007, and windows tablets were around since 2001. the first wifi enabled toy was 2005. the movie is solidly 2010-11. tablet kids were a thing before i graduated high-school, which was 2011, and post Iphone release.

The tech in the movie (T5) is supposed to be like the actual leap pads back from the 2000s that I believe you could chat on if someone you knew also had a leap pad. They were incredibly popular and maybe I was in a more privileged area because me and all my friends had one.

its just a sliding timeline. happens all the time in stories that are supposed to be set in more contemporary times but release over a longer timeline than the story actually covers.

I can’t understand how so many ppl missed the point…she did NOT say iPad kids didn’t exist. She said Bonnie wouldn’t have been that left behind as IPads were JUST becoming a big thing about a year prior so it wouldn’t have been as detrimental as they were portraying that she didn’t have one yet.🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

the pixar universe is on its own timeline(s) it’s reminiscent of our real life history, but not exact. case in point, they had public superheroes in the 1950s, while we did not.

I don’t consider the light year movie canon to the Toy Story timeline. It’s unrealistic for lightyear to have been released in 1995 imo 🤷♀️
