Know this before you go (literally 💩) 👇 Not *every* country does all of these things, but if you’re traveling south you might want to keep this in mind… 🧻 toilet paper does NOT go in the toilet. After you wipe, there are garbage cans to throw the paper away. It keeps the septic systems clear especially in smaller towns that can’t handle that in their system — also doble check because sometimes the paper is outside of the stall or you have to pay for it too 🫠 🚽 don’t be surprised if you don’t find a toilet seat. This is less in big cities and more in smaller towns/rural areas 💰 not all public restrooms are free. I’ve been to many in Colombia, Peru, and Argentina that charge you to use public restrooms. It’s usually not a lot (.25 - $1 give or take) but have your monedas ready 💦 in places like Argentina and Uruguay you’ll find bidets in homes and hotels, and I personally love it! It’s not super common in newer builds but seriously more people need to get used to bidets! The only real clean 😂 Again, this isn’t a representation of ALL countries, and it also differs within countries and regions but there’s nothing worse than getting in the stall and realizing the paper is outside 😭 What did I miss?
