Here’s my take on this Scottish World Cup disaster: When, oh when, oh when are we going to do something in Scotland about the shambolic state of our game?? When are the SfA going to get their heads out of the sand and make radical changes to the league structure and the lack of talent coming through- the utter dominance of the old firm is not healthy for our game in Scotland it is stifling the nurture of home grown talent because all the other teams just want to stay in the league so they buy average foreign players to ensure they don’t get relegated. Scottish football has become stale, stagnant and utterly boring. So instead of focusing on who the next Scotland team manager should be we should be addressing the big problems, but this needs vision and leadership, qualities that don’t seem to be in abundance in the Scottish football authorities. Unless something radical is done we will remain a footballing backwater that is going backwards in terms of improving our standard on the world stage. So here we go again, heading into another Scottish Premier league, 100mph blood and thunder physical garbage with very little skill on show. But nothing seems to change. Our biggest two clubs, the Old firm get gubbed regularly by teams in Europe, other clubs fail to get beyond the preliminary rounds of European competitions season after season, yet nothing ever changes? We are shite at international level for several reasons and the people who are handsomely paid to run Scottish Football need to do something!!
