@doc4heart: I'm Dr. Michael Richman, a double board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon, and today I'm exposing why hsCRP isn’t the precise heart attack predictor many think it is. Let's dive into what it really measures, what messes with it, and why lab results may fool you. If you’re interested in a cardiovascular/lipid consultation you can go to my website at www.paladinmds.com #HeartHealth #crp #inflammation #heartattack #cardiovascularrisk ❤️🩺
I’m never deleting this app. Astounding that I can get this information from an expert explained in a way I can understand.

I do CRP all the time. It is not too useful when it is positive. But when it is negative it can show that there very many diagnoses that a patient is unlikely to have.

I've always understood it to be a blunt instrument. I see that EVERYWHERE.

I have a high ANA and CRP, which my rheumatologist has always said is related to my Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I’ve always wondered if this increases my cardiac risk, so this is wonderful to hear.

Thank you again doctor. So this lab test is not useful just like you told us about Homocysteine. For people like us this means a lot. Question: is it true that elevated/high Insuline blocks Uric Acid depuration thus causing Gout and, if so, is it worth it to test for it and is it true that high Uric Acid lowers Nitric Oxide? Thank you doctor

Thanks for this, very interesting. I have RA and get hsCRP done at the same lab every month. Also had chronically elevated hsCRP around 10. I started Wegovy, lost 30 pounds then discovered I had CAD and needed a stent. Lost another 50 pounds, totally changed my diet and exercise daily and my hsCRP is now just under 1. No way to know if my elevated CRP was from my obesity, RA or CAD but I feel reassured now that it’s consistently low…maybe I shouldn’t lol
