You don’t have to join a union to make good money in the trades. I’m an owner operator and I make $1000 a day.

Go into to the union trades if you wanna commute 2 hours a day, work 10-11 hour days, sometimes 6 days a week. You’ll rarely see your family. Work will be your life. Good luck

Okay. I am a non-union truck driver. I am not a fan of unions in my trade (yes, truck driving is a trade.) But, some trades I would tell a young person, yes, join the union. Depends on the trade and location.

I worked Union straight out trade school back in 2006 as a 3 apprentice. They started me at 27hr, but then they took $ for my benefits and then there's ur Union dues, basically after all they took I was left with 13hr but then they take taxes. stayed for almost a year then I left. became a helper for a Contractor and learn 5 trades. Now I run my own business
