Doctor here… you’d have more luck asking if you can record the convo. But honestly, one of the most effective ways to be taken, seriously is to simply use the phrase “I’m concerned about…”. Knowing why you think there is something wrong is more helpful than you would guess

The last time I saw a doctor he asked me if it was ok if he recorded the appointment for his dictation notes. I replied, "You can if I can also record it for my documention." He said no. I said, - Ok well, I guess we'll write it out together... 🤣😂

Also type up a list of up to 3 things to discuss. Hand them a copy and yourself a copy and refer back to it and visually check off what was discussed and chart the conversation. They don’t always hear your spoken words but reading gets better heard and less ignored. (It’s like kids being mother deaf…verbally tune you out)
