I will never forget having a three-year-old at home and having a patient who also had a three-year-old at home who looks so familiar. I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years and it’s still the hardest thing I can ever reflect on.

Girl, yes. I remember those days when I’d pick up a breakfast sandwich on my way home and eat it in the silence of my car in my driveway while processing the shift I’d just worked. There are a few things I miss about bedside, those shifts are not one of them
