@p3nnyspantry: Trying Every Country's Cuisine 🌍 Ep. 14: Bolivia 🇧🇴 This episode took me to Boulevard Bar on Old Kent Road, where I had such a lovely introduction to Bolivian cuisine. I genuinely loved every dish The Pique Macho was hearty, comforting and packed with flavour, the Huminta was soft, slightly sweet and paired perfectly with the cheese, and the Mocochinchi was so refreshing. Fun fact: the name Pique Macho roughly translates to "spicy macho". Legend has it that when the dish was first created, the chef told a group of hungry men, "If you're macho, you'll eat it!" after serving them the enormous, spicy platter. Whether it's true or not, it's a fun story behind one of Bolivia's most iconic dishes. Beyond the food, the service was so attentive and welcoming. I felt completely at ease, and it made for such a beautiful cultural experience. It's always a privilege to experience a new culture through its food.
