Your refusal to give way to the authorized government vehicle was contrary to Ghana's road traffic laws. Regulation 74 of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2180) provides that where an authorized vehicle is using a siren or bell as a warning appliance, other road users are required to: 1.give way to the vehicle; 2.move as close as reasonably possible to the right or left side of the road 3.stop to allow the vehicle to pass Failure to comply with this legal requirement obstructs emergency operations and amounts to a breach of the Road Traffic Regulations. All drivers have a duty to cooperate with authorized emergency vehicles whenever they are lawfully using their sirens.
