@maggieroseadvocate: I'm 43 with fair skin. Wearing a mineral-based zinc sunscreen has been a big part of my natural skincare routine. Anytime the UV index is 3 or above, I wear sunscreen and will sometimes also use a UV shade umbrella. #sunscreen #spf #sunprotection #skinhealth #skincare
Can *anyone* tell me which sunscreen ingredient causes eye sting and which ones in the US don't have it? Mineral ones don't really work for me & ordering Asian ones can get pricey.

Zinc oxide mineral sunscreens only have like a 15 UVA PPD rating. They're too low. Neutrogena chemical sunscreens with avobenzone in the U.S. has 30+. European brands with meroxyl 400 have 50+ but they're not sold in the U.S.

I'll be honest I've kind of given up on mineral sunscreen, it's so annoying but I still use chemical sunscreen

I have a question, if I use a foundation with sunscreen in it, I'm inside working all day at a hospital, is the protection still effective after 8+ hours like when I get outta work and go outside? thx

Because your skin always regenerates. But with constant UV exposure you don't give your skin to heal normally, and it just piles up. With spf your skin regenerates normally

1000%. When I got crazy intentional about sun protection my skin transformed. Also… UVA breaks down collagen so managing exposure helps your collagen production

These are the same doctors that said the original (non-mineral) sunscreen was great for your skin. 😂
