Honestly the community generally requests the police focus on this and most of the resources that go into catching e bikes is pretty slim. They kinda are told just look out for them. These bikes are also not street legal, and need to have an m1 to ride them. If your parent let you ride a motorized scooter without a license or registration it would indeed be a problem in any scenario.

The police use a tow trucks so the owner of the bike cannot come back and say that the police damaged my bike by putting it in their vehicle.

My neighborhood is infested with these things. Kids do not stop for traffic lights, watch the road before crossing, and they will expect pedestrians to jump out of the way. They will drive IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET and have ZERO awareness of the cars around them! I have nearly hit them multiple times because of how reckless they are! I don’t care about the bike, I care about the fact that these kids are a danger to themselves and others, and I do NOT want to be the car that doesn’t have fast enough breaks.
