Im Swedish and the hookup culture is insane. I would rather say couples don’t have respect for each other, in terms of how people have friends of the other genders. I think mostly many ”don’t” care enough, and it’s very normal to forgive cheating, it’s normal to have contact with the other gender on another level where you add each, hangout alone, can be touchy, can dress and show skin, and I think that’s a normalization in the culture. Men in Sweden barerly date, pay, want to pursue you in a real way, I would say many men often hookup (and many women will sleep easy) and stay just cause they have connection and that’s how many end up in relationships. I think if you want a standard in your relationship you have to be hard from the beginning, cause many men don’t care in traditional respect or typical stereotype for the genders. I personally don’t date Swedish men because I dont share preferences/opinions overall with Swedish men, I don’t drink, I don’t sleep with men, I want to have a more traditional relationship, and I don’t think every Swedish man wants that and contribute the ”man part”

That is called civilization, thats a very healthy society, very good. As someone commented why there is a high divorce rate then, people seperate for many reasons, civilized people discuss, when things dont work they decide to seperate ways, which is very healthy attitude to end things. I do believe that with most Scandinavian men women wouldnt have to deal about banal topics about dressing or other minor issues that in some patriarchal and macho societies women have to deal with.
