You're right. Second year apprentice here. By asking questions and pursuing answers when not given a proper one, along with finishing my work faster so I can wire new things or watch the journeyman wire stuff in I can increase my employability. I carry a 27lb Klein backpack and I better have most of what I or my journeyman may need in about 8 seconds flat. I always hated being unprepared in my personal life and this job takes full advantage of that too lol.

Work hard to get in right after High School. Your pay will keep pace and increase with your lifestyle. In 6 years you will be Set. Your college friends will still be in their first entry level job....!

I’m an apprentice rn. Year one. I’m trying to learn everything I can in the electrical field. So when I turn out as a Journeyman my skills and knowledge will keep me hired and if I do get laid off I’m not scared of taking a call that people don’t wanna do. I hear so man JWs saying all they wanna do is TI (tenant improvement) or residential only. I DONT wanna be that guy. I’ll jump from job to job if I have to during my apprenticeship. I don’t wanna be at one shop my apprenticeship
