@adventurethroughhistory: The Spitfire, it has captured the heart and minds of so many people today. It’s a beautiful aircraft. But it wasn’t designed for its aesthetics, it was designed to fight. In 1940, men from Britain and its empire , aswell as men from countries under occupation such as Poland. Men that were also free and at peace like the US. Men that wanted to fight injustice and tyranny. They climbed into these aircraft to save the world. You can say whatever you wish about the state of the world that we live in today. But in WW2, teenagers fought and died for their world. They gave everything , never forget them. #spitfire #ww2history #airshow #historytok #aviation

It’s nice to see you recognize Newfoundland, as it is often over looked. Newfoundland was its own country for both world wars, joining Canada in 1949.
