@big.deal.pod: Underpricing has a cost you might not be tracking. It's not just lower margins. It's less money to invest in your work, less ability to say no to bad clients, and more resentment creeping in. Chris Do explains why premium pricing is actually more ethical than cheap pricing. Higher rates let you invest in quality. You take on fewer clients and give them better attention. You stop apologizing for your fees because they align with what you deliver. Real greed is underpaying yourself and then delivering mediocre work because you don't have resources to do it right. Chris walks through the pricing framework and why getting this wrong costs you far more than higher rates ever could.
Chris Do has guided me through my whole career in design. Symmetry of logic is the one of the biggest things I’ve learned from him that makes sense and I’ve used through design AND everyday life.

Took me years before I developed the bravery to practice this while learning from Chris. Had to truly face the results of my love and get angry enough to deal with my subconscious to change my patterns. But now I lead my girl in charging enough for herself. I truly appreciate Chris Do.

The market has room for both Target and Tiffany. Both are successful. Know your customers/clients and price accordingly.

The key is providing a better experience. Unfortunately, they want to charge you more but provide a mediocre experience.

They’re taking advantage of YOU if they’re wanting you to charge less. Asked me how I know.

I am really in favor of highest quality product to lowest price, but this is also the reality of it, price equals the value of the product/service

For the first 5-10 seconds, I can’t be the only one out here thinking that it was about charging a device not how clothes are being priced 😭

I tell people all the time. I’m not the cheapest and they are welcome to research other shops and find someone that may fit their budget better. I’ve found that the “cheap” customer is actually more of a pain then the one that doesn’t care about the price.
