@n._.edits_: Desmond Doss was an American Army combat medic during World War II. As a conscientious objector, he refused to carry a weapon because of his Christian faith, believing that he should not harm another human being. Instead, he served courageously on the battlefield as a medic. During the Battle of Okinawa, he repeatedly risked his own life to rescue about 75 wounded soldiers under heavy enemy fire. His extraordinary bravery, selflessness, and dedication to saving others earned him the Medal of Honor, making him the first conscientious objector to receive the award. @JohnMichael howell #desmonddoss #hacksawride #andrewgarfield #andrewgarfieldedit #storyofaworrior
